Areas of Life to Set November Goals
- Health and wellness
- Self-improvement
- Finance
- Relationship
- Career
- Physical environment
These are the areas of life you should consider when setting November goals.
Things to Do Before Setting New Month Goals
Ready to set and smash your goals for November? These are things to do before setting goals.
1. Evaluate and Reflect on the Previous Month:
Before setting goals for November, take a moment to look back at October and review your achievements, challenges, and your big wins (yay! no matter how small they may be).
Also, review the goals you accomplished and could not accomplish.
In your journal, ask yourself these questions;
- What goals did I achieve?
- What didn’t go well?
- How could I have done X goal better?
- Did I prioritize my self-care?
- Did I accomplish my financial?
- What patterns did I notice?
- What should I improve on to make this month better?
In other words, avoid dabbling into the new month without resetting the previous month.
In fact, it is essential to reset the previous month before setting goals for the new month.
And by reflecting on October, you’ll better understand what worked well and what might need improvement.
2. Identify and Set Priorities
Your priorities and commitment will change each month.
For instance: in June, I focused more on business and writing to the extent that my wrist began hurting.
But, while evaluating and setting goals for July, I realized that I didn’t practice self-care enough in June and made self-care a priority for July.
After evaluating the previous month, that’s only when you can discover what’s essential and a priority and, eventually, help you set realistic, achievable goals that promote your well-being.
So, think about what’s most important to you for November. Whether it’s personal growth, health, relationships, or career-related and create a priority list for it.
3. Set Realistic and Specific Goals:
Avoid setting unrealistic and ambiguous goals, or you’ll end up setting goals you’ll never achieve.
When setting November goals, consider other activities, such as Thanksgiving, Black Friday, etc, that may influence your goals.
For example: when setting financial goals for November, consider if you’ll take advantage of the massive discount sales happening.
You’ll shop for things you need like Christmas decor and other Items that will be on huge discount sales.
Not only limited to personal shopping. Also, consider the tools and courses you need to grow in business, life, or career.
Shopping events like this may affect your saving goals, and you’ll need to adjust unless you’re Ingvar Kamprad (lol).
So, make your goals SMART (specific, achievable and measurable, and time-bound).
Break them down into smaller, manageable tasks, so you can track your progress along the way.
4. Create a Plan
After setting your SMART goals, the next step is to outline every step you’ll need to achieve each goal and attach a timeline.
For instance, if your goal for November is to become healthy and fit. This type of goal is big and vague. Instead, try setting goals like;
- I’ll eat healthy foods and avoid late-night dinners and carbs.
- Go to the gym at least 3 times a week.
- I’ll walk 10,000 steps daily.
These goals are realistic, time-bound, and straightforward.
Having a clear plan will keep you focused and motivated throughout the month.
5. Stay Flexible and Kind to Yourself
Life can be unpredictable, and it’s okay if things don’t always go as planned.
So, be open to changes, adapt, and tweak your goals where necessary.
And remember to be gentle, kind, and compassionate with yourself if you encounter obstacles. Remember, progress is more important than perfection.
If you follow these steps when setting your November goals, you’re sure to achieve them.
Without further ado, here is a list of November goal ideas for self-improvement.

1. Create a Year-End Budget
Most people wait until the new year to evaluate and set their financial goals.
One tip for staying ahead and getting into the new year on the right foot is setting your goals at least a month ahead, which includes your financial goals.
Because As the year ends, you should evaluate your expenses, earnings and create a detailed budget for the upcoming year.
This will help you plan your finances better and allocate funds for other areas of your life, such as travel, education, or investments.
2. Save X amount in November
While November is a month where you’ll receive discounts from Black Friday to other pre xmas deals, you should intentionally set aside money for savings.
First, review your income, expenses, debts, and existing savings because understanding your finances will help you set a realistic and achievable goal.
Next, write down exactly how much you want to save.
Having a concrete amount you want to save in mind will help you stay focused.
Whether you’re saving to build an emergency fund, invest in your dreams, or simply have some extra cash for that special holiday gift.
After learning to automate and lock my savings using the Piggy app, I save effectively without being tempted to use them.
3. Practice Daily Gratitude for 30 Days
November reminds us that the year is about to come to an end. Sometimes, you may feel pressured that you’re yet to accomplish your goals for the year.

If you’re yet to decorate your living space, then consider decorating your living space with warm and inviting things like blankets, candles, and fall-themed decorations, making your home feel cozy.

6. Create a Vision Board for the New Year
One game-changing habit I’ve been practicing in the last 2 years is planning for the new year at least a month before.
Although, November gets cozy and cold and requires time indoors compared to summer.
Yet, it’s a good time to start planning and visualizing your goals and aspirations for the new year using a Vision board.

Decluttering and organizing your space is one activity that brings calm to our lives.
And if you haven’t found time to organize your space. Then include organizing and decluttering into your list of November goals.

8. Write personalized Holiday cards
Think about when you buy many Christmas cards and never find time to send them out.
Chances that you’ll be too busy during the Christmas Holiday season to write heartfelt, personalized holiday cards and messages for your family.

You’ll have enough time to prepare everything, including gifts, to outdo others this year.

Let’s face it, the holidays are just around the corner, and they come with assortments of delicious temptations.
Nevertheless, starting a fitness goal in November can help you build a solid foundation of healthier habits, making it easier to resist the urge to binge unhealthily during the festive season.
Also, as the temperature drops, exercising can help you keep Winter blues at bay.
You can start exercising regularly, like going for walks, doing workouts at home, or joining a fitness or Yoga class.
The goal is to build a healthy fitness habit to help you crush your November and your new year’s health goals.
According to Maxwell Maltz, forming a habit takes at least 21 days, so when you do this consistently daily, you allow yourself to stick to a routine.

Remember that infamous saying, “The day you stop learning is the day you die.”
As the year ends, it’s easy to give up on learning something new because you feel you’ve done enough already or are perhaps disappointed that your year didn’t go as planned.
I understand; however, November is the perfect time to learn and master new skills to improve any aspects of your life in the new year.
Therefore, list areas of your life that need improvement and attend workshops or online courses related to your passions and interests.
One of my favorite places to get creative courses is Domestika.

Developing a skincare routine catering to your seasonal needs is another perfect November goal idea.
Because during the colder months, the air gets drier, which can lead to dry and flaky skin.

Also, using a gentle exfoliator once or twice a week can help get rid of dead skin cells and keep your skin looking fresh.

Or reconnect with friends and family members you haven’t spoken with.
14. Start a Healthy Morning Routine
I cannot emphasize enough the importance of having a healthy morning routine to begin your day on the right foot.
As we prepare for the upcoming holiday season, November often demands more from us.
However, you should set aside time to practice self-care.
And if you feel like you don’t have enough time to do this, consider waking up early and spending the first 30 to 60 minutes enjoying your “me time.“
A healthy morning routine allows you to nurture yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally and set a positive tone for the rest of the day.

Self-care doesn’t have to be ambiguous. Set aside time, at least thrice a week, to enjoy practice and enjoy self-care activities. It could be simple things like having a self-care shower or bubble bath or engaging in pampering sessions.
Additionally, you can plan a weekend getaway, road trip, and staycation to a picturesque location to appreciate nature’s beauty.

Perhaps, yours may not be a blog. It may be other projects like a Youtube channel, becoming an influencer, podcaster, etc.,
Whatever you feel like doing, the goal is to start something new and chase it in the new year.
